Most time clock software is built for people whose full-time job is operating time clock software. We built ClockOut for everyone else: the owner-operator who’s also the head of HR, the shift lead who’s never been trained on a SaaS tool, the employee who just wants to clock in and get back to work.
Why simplicity matters more than features
You can buy a time clock app with 200 features. Your team will use 4. The 196 they don’t use are taxes — they slow down the 4 that matter. They generate support questions. They terrify the employee who’s never used a SaaS tool. They make Friday admin take 3 hours instead of 30 minutes.
We picked the 12 features small teams actually use and built them as one clean, fast app. Everything else is hidden until you ask for it.

What “simple” means at ClockOut
Two-button mobile app
Open the app. See “Clock in” in big, friendly text. Tap it. That’s the whole experience for an employee. No project picker, no client dropdown, no “categorize this time entry” modal — unless you turn those on.
One-screen schedule
See the whole week at a glance. Drag-to-assign. Click an employee’s row, drag across days. That’s how the schedule gets built. No tutorials.
One-button payroll export
At end of pay period: review (we surface anything weird), click “Export”, pick your payroll provider. Done.
Power, hidden until needed
GPS verification, geofencing, kiosk mode, scheduling rules, compliance engine, exception inbox — all there, all good, all one tap away in settings. We don’t pop a tour at you on day one. You discover them when you need them.

FAQ
Is “simple” really just code for “missing features”?
No. ClockOut has everything most SMBs need: GPS, geofencing, kiosk mode, scheduling, breaks, overtime, compliance, payroll exports. The difference is they’re hidden behind a clean interface, not displayed in 30-tab settings menus.
Do I need to train my employees to use it?
No. The employee app is two buttons. They figure it out in seconds. Most owners onboard their team via text message: “Install this app, log in with your phone number.”
What if I want a more complex setup later?
All the power features are there. GPS, kiosk, compliance, labor budgeting, certifications — turn them on in settings as you need them. You don’t have to pick everything upfront.
Can I really go from sign-up to first clock-in in 60 seconds?
Yes. Sign up, add yourself, install the mobile app, tap clock in. We’ve timed it.
What does it cost?
Free up to 2 employees. $3 / active employee / month after. Pro is $5 / employee / month if you want state-specific OT and other advanced features. See pricing.
