ClockOut Time Clock by Ophy Labs is the native app for employees. Install it from the store for your phone and sign in with the same account you use on the web. It adds Face ID or passcode lock and a lock-screen shift timer on iPhone, and it gets push notifications for schedule changes and reminders.

Other apps named ClockOut in the stores come from other developers and are unrelated. The right one is published by Ophy Labs Inc and uses the same icon as this site.

ClockOut is also a web app, so nobody has to install anything. Open the site in Safari, Chrome, or any other browser, sign in, and start tracking time. Employees clock in and out from their own phones, and managers get the full dashboard for schedules, timesheets, approvals, and reports on the same account. Admin and manager tools live on the web, so owners run the business from a laptop or the phone browser.

Clock in and clock out also work offline. If a phone loses connection, the punch is saved on the device and syncs automatically with its original tap time once the phone reconnects. Starting and ending breaks need a connection.

Clock in by phone

ClockOut Time Clock is an employee time punch clock app: the phone in an employee's pocket is the time clock. On the way in they open the app and tap clock in, and the punch is saved with the time and a GPS stamp. On the way out they tap clock out. Breaks start and end the same way. Nobody queues at a wall clock and nobody fills in a paper timesheet later.

• One tap in, one tap out. The punch records the time and location on every plan, including Free.
• Works without a signal. A clock in or clock out made offline is kept on the phone and synced with its original tap time once the phone reconnects.
• Restrict where punches count. On Starter and Pro, a geofence keeps clock-ins inside the work area.
• No personal phones? Use a shared tablet. Kiosk mode lets employees clock in with a 4 to 6 digit PIN on Starter and Pro.

Skipping the store? ClockOut ships a web app manifest, so you can pin it to the home screen and open it like any other app, full screen and without the browser bars.

   On iPhone

   Open useclockout.com in Safari, tap the share button at the bottom of the screen, scroll down, and tap Add to Home Screen. Confirm the name and tap Add.

   Open useclockout.com in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, and tap Add to Home screen or Install app. Confirm the prompt.

   Sign in once

   Open the new icon and sign in. The app stays signed in, so clocking in is one tap on the next shift.

What the app does

• GPS clock-in. Every punch is stamped with a location, on every plan including Free.
• Geofences. Restrict clock-ins to the work area. Geofence enforcement is on Starter and Pro.
• Scheduling. Build weekly employee schedules, with recurring shifts, open shifts, and swaps on Starter and Pro.
• PTO. Balances, requests, and approvals on Starter and Pro.
• Overtime. Weekly overtime with your own threshold, plus daily overtime and double-time rules in the Pro compliance pack. Pro work rules let different groups follow their own overtime and break rules, and salaried or overtime-exempt staff are supported on every plan.
• Payroll CSV exports. Payroll-formatted files for ADP, Gusto, and QuickBooks on Pro, plus a generic CSV. These are file downloads, not API connections.
• Kiosk mode. A shared tablet where employees clock in with a 4 to 6 digit PIN, for teams that do not use personal phones. Starter and Pro.
