This page applies to the ClockOut apps published by Ophy Labs Inc (ClockOut Time Clock on the App Store and Google Play, and useclockout.com). You can ask for your account and personal data to be deleted at any time. Here is how it works and what happens to your data.
If you are an employee
Your ClockOut account was created by your employer, who keeps your work records. You can delete your account yourself at any time:
- In the ClockOut app, open Profile and tap Delete my account. On the web, open Profile at useclockout.com and choose Delete my account.
- Type DELETE to confirm. You are signed out right away and your login stops working. If you are clocked in, clock out first.
Your manager or the account owner can also remove you from People. If you can no longer sign in, email hello@useclockout.com from the email address on your account (or include the phone number you sign in with) with the subject “Delete my account”. We confirm your identity, notify your employer, and delete your account within 30 days.
If you are an account owner
Open Settings, go to Danger zone, and choose Delete workspace. Type your workspace name and your password to confirm. Everyone in the workspace is signed out right away and any subscription is cancelled. We keep the workspace for 60 days in case you change your mind (email hello@useclockout.com to restore it), then delete it permanently, including every account and record in it.
What is deleted when you delete your account
- Your login, email address, phone number, and date of birth.
- Sessions, device push tokens, your kiosk PIN, and notifications.
- GPS coordinates and addresses attached to your punches and job photos, and any clock-in photos.
- Your home work area, if you had one.
- Chat messages you sent, and your availability.
What is kept, and for how long
- Timesheets and pay records (hours worked, breaks, time off, pay rate, approvals) are kept under your name by your employer for up to 7 years, because labor and tax law requires it. They no longer carry your location or contact details.
- Job site photos you took for your employer’s clients stay with your employer, without their location.
- When an owner deletes the workspace, all of this is deleted permanently after the 60 day recovery window.
- Anonymous application logs are kept for 90 days for security and debugging, then removed.
Delete some data without deleting your account
You can ask your employer to remove a clock-in photo or a punch correction note. For anything else, email us and we will help.
