Connecteam Review 2026: Is It Worth It?

Connecteam is the best-value bundle for a deskless team that will actually use all of it, and an expensive way to buy a time clock if you will not. One flat fee covers your first 30 users, which makes the headline price the cheapest in the category at that size. The catch is that the fee is per hub, there are three hubs, and the feature that usually pushes a buyer over the line, geofencing, is not in the entry tier. This review is written from public information: pricing and app store ratings were checked on September 9, 2026, and every number says where it came from.

Who Connecteam is for

  • Frontline teams with no company email. The Communications hub gives you chat, company updates, a directory and surveys that reach people who never open a laptop. For many buyers this, not the time clock, is the reason they sign.
  • Businesses that run on checklists. Opening and closing routines, vehicle inspections, incident reports, all filled in on a phone with a timestamp. Unlimited checklists, forms and tasks are in the entry paid tier.
  • High-turnover workforces. The HR & Skills hub carries courses, quizzes and a document library, which is a real onboarding tool you would otherwise buy separately.
  • Teams under 10 people on no budget. The free plan covers up to 10 users for life across all hubs, which is more generous than most competitors.
  • Organizations well over 30 people. The per-additional-user rate above 30 is low, so a 150-person company on a single hub is cheaper here than on almost any per-seat tool.

Who Connecteam is not for

  • Buyers who only want a time clock. You will use a fraction of what you are paying for, and the parts you want may be spread across two hubs.
  • Anyone who wants one simple line on the invoice. Hubs and tiers multiply. Operations Advanced plus Communications Basic at 30 users is $94 a month on monthly billing, not $59.
  • Restaurants that live in POS labor data. There is no Square, Toast or Clover connection of the kind Homebase and 7shifts offer.
  • Teams that want payroll from the same vendor. Connecteam integrates with payroll providers and exports files rather than running payroll itself.
  • Teams sensitive to location tracking. The product advertises live GPS breadcrumbs while employees are on the clock, which is more continuous monitoring than some workforces will accept.

Connecteam pricing as of September 9, 2026

Read from connecteam.com/pricing on September 9, 2026. Every tier covers the first 30 users for a flat fee, then charges per additional user. The two figures in each cell are annual billing first, then monthly billing. Annual saves about 18% according to the toggle on the page.

Source: connecteam.com/pricing, checked September 9, 2026. The headcount figures are computed from the published rule (flat fee for the first 30 users, then the per-user rate for that hub and tier). The Enterprise tier is custom priced and is not shown. On our earlier read of the same page on September 5, 2026, geofencing started at the Advanced tier with up to 10 sites and Expert lifted the cap; we did not re-verify the tier-by-tier feature split on September 9, so check the vendor’s comparison before you buy on that basis.

The full plan-by-plan breakdown, including 100-person figures and a Homebase comparison, is in our Connecteam pricing guide.

What users rate it

Ratings fetched from the store listings on September 9, 2026.

RatingCountChecked
US App Store (Connecteam Team Management App)4.9 out of 5About 58,000 ratingsSep 9, 2026
Google Play (Connecteam Team Management App)4.8 out of 5About 28,900 reviewsSep 9, 2026

Those are the highest store ratings of any product we have checked in this category, and unlike some competitors the two platforms agree with each other, which is a better signal than a single high score. Public review text is not uniformly positive: recurring complaints mention app speed, battery use during GPS tracking, and tablet or desktop layouts that show a phone-sized view. Take that as texture rather than a measurement, since we counted nothing.

Pros and cons

What Connecteam does well

  • Cheapest headline price to 30 users. $35 a month covering 30 people on monthly billing is not matched by any per-seat product.
  • Real breadth. Forms, checklists, training, chat, surveys and a document library alongside the clock and the schedule. If you would otherwise buy two or three tools, this is one bill.
  • A free plan you can actually run on. Ten users, all hubs, forever.
  • Very strong app ratings on both stores. 4.9 and 4.8 with tens of thousands of ratings each.
  • Scales cheaply. The per-user rate above 30 is low, so large frontline organizations get a good deal.

Where it falls short

  • Hub pricing is easy to under-budget. Two hubs is two fees, and the tier you need may not be the tier you priced.
  • Geofencing is not in the entry tier. The single feature most time clock buyers want moves you from $35 to $59 a month on monthly billing.
  • Packaging changes often. Tier names, caps and rates have moved more than once, so a price you read six months ago is not reliable.
  • Continuous GPS breadcrumbs. Advertised as a feature, but a harder sell to staff than a location stamp taken only at the punch.
  • No payroll processing and no POS integrations. Hours sync or export; they are not turned into checks, and restaurant sales against labor is not the product’s strength.

Alternatives worth pricing against it

  • One busy location with a big team: Homebase, at $30 per location per month on Essentials with unlimited employees. See our Homebase review.
  • A time clock without the bundle: ClockOut Starter is $19 a month for up to 5 people then $3 each, with geofence, kiosk, schedules, approvals, PTO, an exception inbox, chat and announcements all on the one tier and no hubs to stack. See ClockOut as a Connecteam alternative and the direct ClockOut vs Connecteam comparison.
  • Straight per-seat pricing: When I Work at $2.50 per user per month on Essentials, or Deputy at $5 per user on Lite with a $30 minimum monthly invoice.
  • Field crews at client sites: the shortlist is in best Connecteam alternatives for field crews.

Being clear about our own product, since we sell one: ClockOut has no forms or checklist builder, no training or course module, no document management beyond files attached to tasks, no built-in payroll processing and no POS integrations. Payroll data leaves as CSV files, including the ADP, Gusto and QuickBooks formats on Pro. If the forms, the courses or the company-wide chat are the reason you are shopping, Connecteam is the better answer and we would rather you knew that now.

FAQ

How much does Connecteam cost?
Checked September 9, 2026 on connecteam.com/pricing: the Small Business plan is free for life for up to 10 users across all hubs. Paid tiers on any single hub are $29 (Basic), $49 (Advanced) and $99 (Expert) a month on annual billing, or $35, $59 and $119 on monthly billing, each covering the first 30 users. Above 30 users the Operations hub charges $0.80, $2.50 or $4.20 per extra user on annual billing. Every additional hub carries its own fee.
Is Connecteam free?
Yes, up to 10 users, for life, with access to all hubs. That is one of the more generous free tiers in the category. Past 10 users you move to a paid tier, where the flat fee covers up to 30 users on the hub you are paying for.
Is the Connecteam app good?
By store ratings, yes. Checked September 9, 2026: 4.9 out of 5 from about 58,000 ratings on the US App Store and 4.8 out of 5 from about 28,900 reviews on Google Play, which is unusually high and unusually consistent across platforms for this category. Recurring complaints in public reviews mention app speed, battery drain while GPS tracking is on, and tablet layouts that show a phone-sized view.
What are the downsides of Connecteam?
Three, in order of how often they surprise buyers. Hub pricing: chat and training are separate products with separate fees, so the real bill is often double the headline. Tiering: geofencing sits above the entry tier, which is the exact feature most time clock buyers want. Scope: if you only need a clock and a schedule you are paying for forms, courses and surveys you will not open. There is also no payroll processing and no POS integration.
Connecteam vs Homebase: which is better?
They are priced on different things, so the answer follows your shape. Homebase charges $30 per location per month on Essentials with unlimited employees, so one busy store with 40 staff is very cheap and three sites is $90. Connecteam charges per hub for the first 30 users regardless of location, so three small sites cost the same as one, but chat is a second fee. Both are free up to 10 people, Homebase at one location only. Prices checked September 9, 2026.
